Lucas is from the City of Vancouver, located within the traditional and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. He majored in Political Science at the University of British Columbia and is working towards a JD, certificate in Aboriginal and Indigenous Law, and certificate in Environmental Law from Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law. 

Lucas is currently a Co-Coordinator for Pro Bono Dalhousie's Consent Project, which conducts educational workshops for youth on sexual consent law. He just finished working as a summer articled student at Lawson Lundell LLP in Vancouver and will be working at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic for the Fall 2023 semester.
